Hi, I’m Dan. I serve as Assistant Director of Collection Strategies and Discovery at Bucknell University‘s Bertrand Library, where I began working in 2009 after finishing my M.A. in American Literature from Bucknell University. I also hold a B.S. in geology and have filled all requirements for a B.A. in Spanish, also from Bucknell. I began my library career in interlibrary loan and have taken on more responsibilities as the years have progressed.
Professionally, I am responsible for the full life-cycle of library resources, both print and electronic, and I work directly with colleagues to ensure the maximum usefulness of the library collection. I collaborate with librarians, faculty, and staff in the development and implementation of collection development strategies and coordinate the expenditure of the library’s materials budget, in addition to supervising staff members responsible for acquisitions, cataloging, electronic resources, periodicals and serials, access services and interlibrary loan. I am a core member of the University’s copyright team, and administer our institutional repository, Digital Commons.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading; listening to music; fencing; hiking; traveling with my wife, Emily; and watching the Mets.
